HER performance of Ni3Se2/Fe, Ni3Se2/Co and Ni3Se2/Mo composite materials with multistage structure

In this paper, nanowool ball Ni3Se2, rod NiSe and multistage Ni3Se2 were prepared. Multilevel Ni3Se2 was doped with Fe, Co and Mo respectively to prepare composite catalysts. The prepared materials were characterized by UV, XRD, SEM-EDS and XPS. The results show that the composite catalysts with multi-level Ni3Se2 and Mo have special morphology and high purity. The HER performance of the composites was tested using an electrochemical workstation, and the results show that at a current density of 10 mA cm−2, the overpotentials of Ni3Se2, Ni3Se2/Fe, Ni3Se2/Co and Ni3Se2/Mo are 71, 71, 3 and 37 mV, respectively; At a current density of 100 mA cm−2, their overpotentials are 396.9, 373.6, 321.8 and 290.1 mV, respectively. Their Tafel slopes are 227, 169, 145 and 137 mV dec−1, respectively. The Rcts of Ni3Se2, Ni3Se2/Fe, Ni3Se2/Co and Ni3Se2/Mo are 1.63, 1.47, 1.15 and 0.90Ω, respectively. After the comparison of the electrochemical HER performance, it is found that the Ni3Se2/Mo composite catalyst has good HER performance.
