摘要

•Three-dimensional nanoporous Ag were fabricated from reduction of Ag2O.•The approach is simple and cost-effective.•The three-dimensional nanoporous Ag can be used as an efficient SERS substrate.•The approach is applicable to other metals for the fabrication of porous structures.
