Ag nanoparticles anchored reduced graphene oxide sheets@nickel oxide nanoflakes nanocomposites for enhanced capacitive performance of supercapacitors

•A microwave assisted hydrothermal method and chemical reduction method was employed to synthesize Ag-rGO@NiO ternary nanocomposite.•A ternary nanocomposite (Ag-rGO@NiO) was exploited first time as electrode material in electrochemical devices.•Ternary nanocomposite, Ag-rGO@NiO shows high capacitance value, high energy and power density as well as shows good stability under long cyclic study.
