Optimizing Cluster Head Formation using Re-Election Algorithm in Wireless Sensor Networks

An energy-efficient technique is needed to enhance the lifespan of a wireless sensor network (WSN) made up of geographically separated sensor nodes. Many of the known solutions to this optimization challenge include limitations, such as an inability to adjust network architecture, which might kill sensor nodes prematurely. Re-election of cluster heads has gained popularity to increase WSN energy efficiency and longevity. To assess the algorithm’s usefulness, its performance was compared to other algorithms. This Endeavour attempts to build a clustering environment and evaluate how adding nodes impacts the Cluster Head’s energy usage (CH). The sensor network limits node hopping. The initiative intends to design a dynamic algorithm that re-elects CH after a set duration, decreasing energy usage. To compare the method’s performance, the CH energy level graphs are also analyzed.
