Each year more than 1.3 million people are losing their lives on the road due to the negligence of the passengers and lack of road maintenance. Around 20 to 40 million people are suffering from nonfatal injuries. Motorbike riders are among the top 40 percentage among the count of sufferers. The major reasons behind these accidents include speeding, drunk & driving, violating the traffic rules, triples riding, and so on. It is thus the responsibility of society to contribute their ideas towards ways to reduce these risks on road. Despite the strict traffic rules and levy which are put forward by the government, 40% of the passengers avoid wearing helmets while driving two-wheelers. It is therefore extremely important to develop smart techniques to avoid road fatalities due to negligence. Many smart helmet inventions already are developed but the market is not widespread due to limitations including unaffordable cost, less societal interest, and so on. The paper proposes an IOT -based smart helmet to limit the use of vehicles if the passenger is not physically fit for driving. Under any possible accident, the location can be accessed and informed to emergency services as the system is equipped with GPS and GSM modules. The information is sensed, analyzed, and controlled to limit the use of vehicles under unsatisfactory conditions thereby reducing fatalities on road.
