Synergistically coupling of WC-WP/NC hybrid catalyst for electrocatalytic hydrogen production

•The synergistic coupling will be induced by hybridization between WC and WP nanoparticles.•The interface between WC and WP achieves rapid charge transfer and accelerates HER dynamics.•The agglomerating of nanoparticles can be effectively prevented by the anchoring of porous carbon sheets.•WC-WP/NC shows good catalytic activity both in acidic and alkaline conditions.
