摘要

•Micro-alloyed Mg-Sr-La shows twice higher mechanical properties than pure Mg.•Mg-Sr-La alloy exhibits a comparable degradation rate to that of high-purity Mg.•Sr and La do not compromise the biocompatibility of pure Mg to MC3T3-E1 and HGF-1.•The alloy exhibits superior osseointegration properties in the oral cavity of Beagles.
