Trapeziectomy with a capsular suspension flap is associated with reduced post-operative pain

Trapeziectomy is a common surgical treatment for osteoarthritis of the first carpometacarpal joint. There are several techniques described in the literature for reconstructing the resulting space between the base of the first metacarpal and the scaphoid bone.
