Investigation and Screening of Mixed Microalgae Species for Lipase Production and Recovery using Liquid Biphasic Flotation Approach

•Microalgae desmodesmus and scenedesmus sp. were investigated as sources of lipases.•Lipase enzyme was recovered from wet microalgae using alcohol/salt LBF.•P-nitrophenol-acyl esters was used to screen lipases for desirable activities.•Optimal system produces recovery yield of 70.3% with purification factor of 7.5.•Lipases successfully recovered by using recycling liquid biphasic flotation.
