Leptomeningeal carcinomatosis presenting with acute motor axonal neuropathy

Leptomeningeal carcinomatosis is a rare, devastating, and mostly late-stage complication of various solid tumors and hematologic malignancies. The diagnosis can be challenging especially if malignancy is not in active phase or treatment was discontinued. A literature search revealed various unusual presentations of leptomeningeal carcinomatosis including cauda equina syndrome, radiculopathies, acute inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy, and others. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first case of leptomeningeal carcinomatosis presenting with acute motor axonal neuropathy variant of Guillain-Barre Syndrome and unusual cerebrospinal fluid findings known as Froin's syndrome.
