Effect of disinfectants and manual wiping for processing the cell product changeover in a biosafety cabinet

•Cell product changeover poses the risk of cross-contamination in cell processing.•Ethanol spraying and wiping are commonly used for cleaning during changeover.•We evaluated disinfectant spraying and wiping using a hard surface career test.•Wet condition and appropriate disinfectant are necessary for effective wiping.•Spraying can vary based on the operator; thus, proper protocols should be devised.
