A Study of Promoting Relaxation System Using Extra-Conscious Sounds Containing Alpha Ultra-Low Frequency Monaural Beats

This study proposes a relaxation system using alpha-band monaural beats to promote relaxation in people. To avoid affecting human activity, the frequency of the stimulus sound used to generate the target beat is outside the frequency range of human auditory perception. To examine the performance of the proposed method, a subjective test and a MindWave single-electrode electroencephalogram (EEG) tester were used to check meditation values. A paired-samples $t$ test was used to verify the relaxation values for both methods. As a result of the experiment, the $p$ value of the EEG meditation value of the 6th minute was 0.04, and the $p$ value of the subjective scale was 0.0075. The experimental results show that the proposed method can reveal a certain relaxation effect. Therefore, the proposed relaxing system can actually promote people's relaxation.
