Research on Coupling Coordination Relationship Between Technological Innovation and Green Development of Coastal Tourism

Scientific and technological innovation is an important driving force for high-quality tourism development. In order to promote innovation-driven green development of tourism industry in coastal areas, this paper used panel data of 11 coastal provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government) in China from 2011 to 2019, evaluated the level of scientific and technological innovation and green development of coastal tourism based on entropy method, and then used coupling coordination model to explore the coupling coordination relationship between the two. The results showed that: (1) the sub-system of science and technology innovation and green tourism development in the coastal areas presented a steady rise. The distribution pattern of science and technology innovation level in the three marine economic circles was from high to low in the east, north and south, and the green development level of coastal tourism was from high to low in the east, south and north. (2) The coupling coordination between the two systems in the coastal areas was in the basic coordination state of continuous optimization. The three marine economic circles showed the spatial characteristics of high coupling coordination degree in the east and low coordination degree in the north and south. (3) The level of coordination between the scientific and technological innovation and the green development of coastal tourism in provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government) had been continuously enhanced, and had developed to the direction of basic coordination and moderate coordination. Based on the above conclusions, suggestions were put forward to advocate the low-carbon development of tourism, explore the green and innovative development mode of coastal tourism, and formulate differentiated green tourism development strategies.
