摘要

•A phosphinine containing sensor for the ratiometric fluorescent detection of Hg2+has been developed.•Paper kit-based recognition was established.•The sensing mechanism of Hg2+ was clearly explained by 1H NMR and HPLC titrations.•The sensor could be utilized to detect Hg2+ in living cells.
