Algorithm for Motion Compensation In An Airborne Mosaic Mode SAR System

Mosaic mode is a combination of spotlighting or sliding spotlighting mode and ScanSAR mode, which can improve the SAR image resolution through azimuth spotlighting and obtain a large imaging width through range scanning. This paper studies the problem of airborne SAR imaging with Mosaic mode. After performing the SAR imaging by using the polar format algorithm (PFA), the motion error in virtue of platform irregulation motion is modelled and compensated. The simulation results show the influences of the motion error on the Mosaic mode SAR imaging, and then the motion error compensation is performed, which provides a reference for the system design of the Mosaic mode SAR application on the airborne platform.
