摘要

•The bulk- and molecular-level transformation of DOM under UV/PAA process was studied.•Products of low molecular size and aromaticity and high oxidation extent were formed.•·OH and CH3C(O)O·/CH3C(O)OO· drove DOM transformation with distinct mechanisms.•Decarboxylation distinguishes CH3C(O)O·/CH3C(O)OO·-based AOP from ·OH-based AOP.
