A randomized controlled trial of an online alcohol and sexual risk prevention program for college students studying abroad

•There are high rates of heavy drinking, risky sexual behaviors, and sexual violence among college students abroad•Few interventions exist for students abroad to prevent alcohol and sexual risk•Small effects were observed on drinking and risky sex outcomes favoring a brief online intervention for students abroad•Modifications to the developed intervention (e.g., booster sessions) may be necessary to observe larger, long-term effects on all outcomes
