•Paroxysmal chest discomfort is a rare symptom of temporal lobe seizure.•Home video confirmed slight epileptic features associated with chest discomfort.•The attacks and amygdala enlargement were improved only by antiseizure medication.•LTVEM will be diagnostic for patients with chest discomfort of epileptic origin.
