Seismic performance of concrete-filled steel tubular composite columns with ultra high performance concrete plates

•The seismic performance of concrete-filled steel tubular (CFST) composite columns with ultra high performance concrete (UHPC) plates is studied.•The pseudo-dynamic tests are carried out with the parameters of ground motion characteristics, axial pressure ratio, plate material, and mainshock-aftershock sequences.•The seismic response, stiffness degradation, strength degradation, and cumulative hysteretic energy dissipation of the specimen are mainly studied.
