Data-driven prediction of energy consumption of district cooling systems (DCS) based on the weather forecast data

•Constructing the energy consumption prediction model based on weather data.•The weather data can be easily obtained from meteorological station.•Partial weather data and energy consumption data have the highest linear correlation.•BP-ANN algorithm was suitable for constructing energy consumption prediction model.•It can be used for the fault diagnosis and operation and maintenance control of DCS.
