Direct access to trifluoromethylated a-hydroxyketones from silver-catalyzed hydroacyloxylation of trifluoromethyl propynols with acids

A general and efficient method for the synthesis of trifluoromethylated a-acyloxyketones has been developed via silver-catalyzed hydroacyloxylation of trifluoromethyl propynols with a variety of acids. The obtained a-acyloxyketones can be easily hydrolyzed under acidic conditions to afford the corre-sponding trifluoromethylated a-hydroxyketones, and undergoes various further transformations.(c) 2022 Elsevier Ltd.
