Mental rotation, episodic memory, and executive control: Possible effects of biological sex and oral contraceptive use

•We studied sex differences and OC effects on three cognitive domains.•Females outperformed males on all episodic memory measures.•There were no sex differences or OC effects on mental rotation or executive control.•OC users had elevated gist memory for stories.•We discuss the need for more high-powered, quasi-experimental studies on OCs.
