Recent development of ethylene–vinyl acetate modified asphalt

•EVA modified asphalt had better storage stability than other polymer modified asphalts.•EVA modified asphalt exhibited high temperature performance comparable to other modified asphalts.•Three-dimensional network structure of EVA could impede the oxidation reaction of asphalt.•EVA modified asphalt was a good alternative for pavement at heavy load and high temperature regions.
