摘要

•Basic oxygen furnace slag is autoclaved in order to overcome its latent reactivity and to produce a building material.•Basic oxygen furnace slag showed increased reactivity under autoclave conditions.•The main reaction products of autoclaved basic oxygen furnace slag were hydrogarnet, α-C2SH, amorphous.•Mechanical performance of the produced products was controlled by porosity created by the unreacted free water.
