Japanese Black cattle call patterns classification using multiple acoustic features and machine learning models

•Four cattle call patterns produced by fattening cattle and estrus dams were classified.•Normal calls with and without noise and estrus and hunger calls have high accuracy.•Successful classification provides information for feeding monitoring and estrus prediction.•Multiple acoustic features were extracted and combined for cattle call patterns classification.
