Associations between life's simple 7 and incident depression among adults aged 50 years and older: A 15-year cohort study

•Higher life's simple 7 scores were associated with lower depression risk.•Healthy behaviors were associated with lower depression risk.•Lower glucose levels were associated with decreased depression risk.•LS7-depression association was stronger in participants with high genetic risk.
