Thermochemical syngas generation via solid looping process: An experimental demonstration using Fe-based material

•Chemical looping is demonstrated up to 5 bar for syngas generation.•A maximum temperature rise of 229 °C is recorded during oxidation.•60% of the equilibrium CH4 reforming is achieved with Fe-based OC.•Chemical looping RWGS conversion is at the equilibrium at >700 °C with Fe-based OC.•92% of the original capacity is recovered after carbon deposition with dry reforming.
