Multiproxy approach to the reconstruction of soil denudation events and the disappearance of Luvisols in the loess landscape of south-western Poland

•Denudation processes strongly reshaped soil cover in loess areas.•The first denudation event occurr in Prehistoric times and followed in Neolithic.•Progressive erosion led to removing eluvial and argic horizons in Luvisols.•Luvisols transformed into Regosols with very weak pedogenic alternations.•Approximately Luvisols status may be completely transformed within 80–300 years.
