Magnetic Resonance Imaging Evaluation of a Hearing Protector Device Designed for Neonatal Patients

•Hearing protection for neonates that can be effectively used during MRI examinations is limited.•A new hearing protector device was recently developed specifically for neonates. Because of safety concerns, MRI-related issues were assessed for this hearing protector device.•Based on the findings, this neonatal hearing protector device is designated “MR Safe”, which is a medical device that poses no known hazards resulting from exposure to any MRI environment.
