摘要
The increasing concentration of organic pollutants in water has become challenging and has lethal effects on humans and ecology. Metal-based materials have been used as promising candidates for the degradation of organic pollutants. This review summarizes and studies the recent applications of metal-doped CeO2-based nanomaterials for photocatalytic degradation of organic waste in the water. The unique properties of metal-doped CeO2, such as its characteristic bandgap, oxygen vacancies, and surface-active cationic sites, have been studied for organic waste degradation. In addition, the properties of the synthesis routes and conditions, reaction temperature, concentration, nature and annealing temperature of the doping ions, and surface morphology are described. Finally, challenges and prospects for the development of doped CeO2 as a photocatalyst with precise morphology and synthesis routes are discussed.
