To the Editor: We were pleased to read the case report from Cogan et al1 on the development of paraneoplastic alopecia areata (AA) surrounding a low-grade cutaneous carcinoma that allows us to share our similar experience and observations. We report a case of paraneoplastic AA exacerbated by Mohs micrographic surgery (MMS) for the removal of basal cell carcinoma.
