摘要
N6-methyladenosine (m6A) is a dynamic and reversible epigenetic modification that is involved in systemic immune and metabolic regulation by targeting RNA metabolism.m6A level and methylation patterns are changed in metabolic diseases and metabolic disorders.m6A modification significantly affects macrophage function from the perspective of their development, activation, polarization, pyroptosis, lipid uptake, and cholesterol efflux.Regulation of macrophage m6A homeostasis may be a novel therapeutic strategy for the treatment of metabolic diseases, such as atherosclerosis and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease.
