Development of an IoT Device for Structural Health Monitoring.

This paper discusses the research and development of a sensor and an IoT device that constantly monitor the health of structures and autonomously detect deterioration due to earthquakes and aging. In recent years, there has been an increase in the number of accidents caused by the aging of infrastructure structures in Japan, and manual inspections such as the hammering test have been used to prevent such accidents. The sensor device developed in this research continuously monitors the structure, and when the piezoelectric junction sensor detects an abnormal state, it not only sends the signal to the integrated device but also has the function of alerting the user that the structure is in a dangerous state.
