摘要
Foot-based input provides an alternative interaction mechanism in the situation where the hands are occupied or unavailable. Our research has implemented and evaluated 5 different mathematical models, i.e., absolute value function, quadratic function, whitey’s square-root function, full continuous function, and modified square root function along with Kobayashi and Igarashi [10] equation for foot-based scrolling techniques. We have considered mapping strategies, mapping techniques, input parameters, and gestural mapping in our design. The proposed techniques were evaluated by 24 participants to analyze the efficiency and accuracy of foot-based scrolling tasks to interact with 2D radiological images. The experimental result shows that there were no significant differences among mapping techniques. However, the users preferred whitney’s square root mapping technique in respect of precision, faster and low fatigues in comparison to other proposed scrolling techniques.
