摘要
In this paper, we present a prototype of the simulational framework for incorporating pollution propagated from chimneys into the urban design. Namely, our system allows for the generation of the topography based on the NASA database, and then it selects the possible location of chimneys (in general, pollution sources). It reads the wind history from the available internet databases and performs computer simulations of the shape, direction, and concentration of the pollution clouds generated by the chimneys. In particular, this system allows to measure how the selection of the chimney locations can affect the air quality in the residential districts. On the other hand, it allows to take into account the air pollution concentration when selecting locations of the residential buildings. The prototype of the framework allows for cooperation between designers planning residential buildings and factory locations (and other possible pollution sources). To make possible an efficient simulation of the pollution propagation in an urban area, we describe a modification to the linear computational cost direction splitting solver allowing for incorporation of the terrain. We verify our framework on a simple model problem.
