Association of comorbid depression and obesity with cardiometabolic multimorbidity among middle-aged and older Chinese adults: A cohort study

•The impact of comorbid depression and obesity on the risk of cardiometabolic multimorbidity was assessed in a cohort study.•Participants with both depression and obesity had the highest risk of incident cardiometabolic multimorbidity.•Interventions targeting at this high-risk group may be beneficial to reduce the burden of cardiometabolic multimorbidity.
