CADASIL syndrome: Long-term follow-up on MRI

AbstractCerebral Autosomal Dominant Arteriopathy with Subcortical Infarcts and Leukoencephalopathy (CADASIL) is a hereditary vascular disorder inherited in an autosomal dominant manner. MRI plays a crucial role in the diagnosis and follow-up of patients. Characteristic MRI lesions include symmetric and bilateral white matter periventricular hyperintensities, lacunar infarcts and cerebral microbleeds. In our case report, we demonstrate a male patient with genetically confirmed CADASIL syndrome and the progression of symptoms with corresponding imaging findings throughout the years.
