摘要
Attributed to the high-power density and good tolerant capability, the five-phase Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (5 Phi-PMSM) is being nominated for the powertrain of electrified transportation. The fault-tolerant control (FTC) of a star-connected 5 Phi-PMSM has gained tremendous attention, but a pentacle-connected 5 Phi-PMSM is more favorable for battery-powered transport. The zero-sequence current (ZSC) can be a primary concern for a pentacle-connected 5 Phi-PMSM, thus this paper is focused on ZSC suppression which brings benefits such as lowering torque ripple and peak phase current. Most importantly, with null ZSC, the torque and current behaviors can almost resemble the ones under a star connection. Experimental results on a pentacle-connected 5 Phi-PMSM validate our viewpoint.
