Hierarchical MoS2 hollow microspheres with high piezoelectric catalytic performance prepared by the soft-template method

•Hierarchical MoS2 HMS were fabricated for antibiotics degradation.•Excellent strain-induced effect and piezocatalytic activity of MoS2 HMS for pollutants degradation.•OH and O2– radicals were responsible for pollutants degradation.•The excellent electrochemical properties of MoS2 HMS benefited the efficient separation and transfer of charge carriers.
