Incremental LNS Framework for Integrated Production, Inventory, and Vessel Scheduling: Application to a Global Supply Chain

•A multiobjective mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) model that integrates production scheduling, inventory management, and vessel assignment is presented.•An exploratory analysis is conducted to identify complexity sources.•A novel variant of the large neighborhood search metaheuristic is designed.•A practical way of making profit from symmetry instead of breaking it is highlighted.•Near-optimal solutions are reached in few minutes on real-world instances.
