•Potential of GrOAgNPs embedded in CA nanofibers for wound dressings was studied.•GrO and nanofibers can adsorb and transport wound fluid keeping moist environment.•GrO and nanofibers promote tissue and vascular regeneration and accelerate healing.•The AgNPs protect from microbial contaminations and infections.•Anchored AgNPs on GrO and embedded in nanofibers protect from silver’s toxicity.
