3D-Printed Waveguide for 220 GHz-325 GHz Band

A 1-inch-long waveguide for 220-325 GHz was fabricated using our UV-curable-resin type 3D printer, RECILS and electroless plating. The waveguide, with a cross section of 860 mu m x 430 mu m and UG387/ UM flanges at both ends, exhibits insertion loss comparable to that of commercially available metal waveguides. This technology can be used for integrated fabrication of 3D waveguides, such as bandpass filters, directional couplers, and phased arrays, with a high resolution (20-30 mu m).
