Polysomnographic versus video scoring of large muscle group movements during sleep in children with restless sleep

•Large muscle movements (LMM) are a key feature of restless sleep disorder (RSD).•Recently, scoring criteria for LMM on polysomnographic (PSG) signals alone have been published.•PSG-LMM are significantly more numerous than video-LMM while their duration is not.•LMM indexes and durations obtained by the two methods correlate significantly between them.•A PSG-LMM index higher than the video-LMM index may be needed to diagnose RSD.
