•The variation of Pos2200 in the Cimabanshuo-Luobuzhen area is mainly controlled by Tschermak substitution in white mica crystals.•The indications of SWIR (Pos2200 < 2203 nm, Dep2200 > 0.2, IC > 2.0) have been established at the Zhu’nuo ore-cluster district for rapidly identifying potential porphyry copper mineralization.•Three H/M centers and a new porphyry metallogenic system in the Cimabanshuo-Luobuzhen area have been identified based on the indications of SWIR.
