Towards Natural Virtual Mouse with mm-Wave Radar

This paper introduces the design and the implementation of a natural virtual mouse based on mm-wave radar. Key challenges and algorithm solutions have been addressed. We imitated the interactions of a physical mouse by moving hand or fingers on desk surface. Three virtual mouse functions have been implemented, including cursor moving, clicking and wheel scrolling. This is the first radar-based natural virtual mouse with detection range of 60cm. We provide larger area and less restrictions for the interactions.
