Calculation Method for Inductance Value of Multi-Material Powder Cores Inductor Considering Their DC Superimposition Characteristic

摘要
This paper proposes a novel inductor which combines multiple powder cores with different material properties, which can achieve high power density and high efficiency. However, powder cores have a feature that the relative permeability varies depending on the magnetic field intensity, so the inductance drops as the inductor current is increased. The method for calculating DC superimposition inductance value is not well discussed in the relevant literature. This paper proposes a novel method for calculating the inductance of multi-material inductor, which considers the DC superimposition characteristics of powder cores. The validity of the proposed method is proved by experimental results.
