摘要
Electrochemical water splitting is a promising technology to generate green hydrogen renewably from water with no carbon footprint. However, the catalytic efficiency is hindered by the sluggishness of the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) at the anode. Developing earth-abundant, stable, and efficient OER catalysts is of key interest. Recent studies have demonstrated that high entropy perovskite oxides (HEPOs) can exhibit superior OER activity and good electrochemical stability because of the synergistic effects of the multiple cations and the high entropy configuration effect. In this opinion paper, we point out the strengths and discuss the challenges and prospects for HEPO-based electrocatalysts.
