•Predicting adverse outcomes in women after TAVI is challenging.•Use of oral anticoagulant (OAC) was the strongest predictor of adverse outcomes.•OAC use may reflect a combination of high-risk factors and comorbidities.•OAC use may be included in risk assessment after TAVI not only for bleeding.
