Prevalence of perinatal anxiety and its determinants in mainland China: A systematic review and meta-analysis

•271 studies with 369,477 women from 29 provinces were included in the systematic review.•Prevalence of perinatal anxiety was 17.4% in mainland China, with prenatal anxiety 17.4 % and postpartum anxiety 17.5%.•The main possible risk and protective factors of the prevalence of perinatal anxiety were qualitatively summarized.
