These days, the recycling of municipal solid waste is an essential strategy which can also generate multiple benefits as an eco-friendly policy. In this investigation, we report on the production of cellulose acetate—nickel aluminate composite tablets obtained from used cigarette filters and disposed of aluminum commercial foil. The material was evaluated using several techniques, such as SEM, XRD, FTIR, and DSC/TGA, showing a promissory use as a catalytic material in a WGS reaction besides leading to the possibility of reduced contamination of water and soils through the recycling of these materials.
